About Me

Hi, I am Daniel, an incoming Mathematics student who loves problem solving, building things and learning. I am currently on a year off before university looking to put my skills to somewhere useful.

I run my own tutoring company with over 200 hours of experience helping local children get the grades of their dreams. This displays my business sense, customer service capability and initiative.

I Work hard and put my head down. I am a problem solver at heart, so if you need something done, you can count on me.

Proud Achievements

Top 10 Nationally in STEM Racing

March 2025

I built a team with some of my best friends to enter into the international STEM RAcing competition where we designed and engineered a car to race on a 20m track. I raised over £2000 in sponsoprship to help our team develop and eventually place 9th Nationally out of over 1000 teams.

Second in UK Ethics Cup

March 2024

My team won the North West regional finals for the ethics cup where we debate and discuss pressing and controversial ethical matters. We travelled to St Andrews University to compete in the national finals, missing out on first by just one point. I am still gutted to this day.

Preston Syrian Refugee Program

2016-2018

I hellped raise and collect donations fo Syrian refugees in Preston and in Calais. I would talk at schools to collect clothing and essentials donations which I loaded into vans to be driven to Calais. I also helped families integrate and settle in Preston by taking them on days out to Bushcraft in Beacon Fell and canoeing in the lake district.

Life & Travel Highlights

Trek Camino De Santiago

After getting my A Level results, I decided the best way to celebrate would be to embark on a 200km trek in Basque country northern spain with my friend James. Unlike my expectations, Spain was full of unforgiving mountains, harsh rain and fog. A highlight of the trip would be cooking tomato soup in a small hut at the top of a mountain after walking 22km and climbing 1400m.

Interrailing Trip with mates

I travelled by train with friends from Manchester to Bosnia. We stopped in many countries along the way of course. I had great fun meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds and trying tonnes of great food. We even came up with some of our own recipes when our resources where short - such as Spaghetti in a kettle!.

German Cultural Exchange

I Practiced my German speaking skills staying with a partner family in Augsburg. I spent a week in a German school, eating German food, learning German culture. Es hat viel spaß gemacht!

West Highland Way

I took my dad to Milngavie Scotland to walk the 96 miles of the West Highland way. This was the third time I had done it. I love the outdoors, camping and going on Treks. There are countless other treks and camping trips I have been on such as The Outer Hebrides, Mount Teide, Loch Ore, Lynn Peninsula and more, however I can't write about them all here.

Solo travel in Turkey

My first time travelling alone in a foreign country. I spent 5 days in Istanbul going out with locals and other travellers to explore the rich history of Istanbul. On top of travelling, I am a big history fan and had a great experience exploring a city which has had such a massive affect on the world.
